Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountain – Ait Benhaddou – Daraa Valley – Zagora (Camel ride and night in the camp)
Our two days trip will start from your accommodation in Marrakech; we will pick you up in the morning and drive you to the South of Morocco and its desert through the High Atlas Mountain that reaches an elevation of 7415ft. The High Atlas Mountain has one of the operatic pass called Tizi n’Tichka surrounded by magnificent landscapes and tiny Berber villages with their small farms and flocks of sheep or goats. Miles after miles, we will get outside of the mountain and its switchbacks to get to the Kasbah(Castle) of Ait Benhaddou that was founded in 11th century, it is not only the largest Kasbah in the kingdom but also it is listed as a World Heritage Site according to UNESCO in 1987. The Kasbah has been used in film industry as many films have been shot in it such as, Gladiator, Sheltering Sky, Lawrence of Arabia and Game of Thrones. We will spend about one hour just walking on its narrow streets and climbing to the top of hill to have the whole sight to the Kasbah. Afterwards, we will have lunch in a local restaurant in the modern village of Ait Benhaddou and we then make our way to Zagora passing through the Anti-atlas Mountain and Daraa Valley which has the longest river in Morocco(680miles), hundreds of thousands date palm trees, Kasbahs and fortified villages. In addition to that, we will have chance to walk along the river to meet some Berber locals taking care of their crops and feeding their animals, sharing cup of tea with them and fresh dates. We then continue our journey to Zagora where you will find your camel and professional guide waiting for you. While you have a camel trek that lasts for 40 minutes, crossing the baby dunes of Sahara, your luggage will be carried by a 4*4 car to the camp. On your way to the camp, you will have a plenty of photo opportunities and stop for watching the sunset over the dunes and the palm trees. On arrival to the camp, you will be welcomed by a cup of mint tea and cookies and then you will have time for refreshment and rest before you have dinner in a luxurious restaurant. After dinner, we will gather around bonfire to enjoy the traditional Berber songs and dancing with its tunes. Overnight in a camp that equipped with mattresses, comfortable beds and pillows. Breakfast is included, too.
Day 2: Zagora – Ouarzazate – High Atlas Mountain – Marrakech
In early morning, you will hear nothing expect the clapping of a server in order to wake you up to watch one of the best sunrise in your life. After breakfast, you will take camel back to Zagora and meeting your guide/driver to start your journey to Marrakech. On arrival to Ouarzazate, we will visit the Kasbah of Taourirt that built in 19th century by Thami El Glaoui, and the Atlas Studio where a several movies have been shot in. Later on, we follow our way to Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountain where we will have lunch in a Berber restaurant. Arriving Marrakech in the evening and our driver/guide will make sure to drop you off in your chosen Hotel/Raid.
