Day Trip to Ourika

Ourika valley is the perfect escapade for those who seek fresh air and cool breeze away from the intense heat of Marrakech. It is only 40 miles away from Marrakech, and the road is full of tall palm trees, fruit trees, small villages, summer houses and numerous cafes and restaurants. The greenside of this landscape attracts most tourists. And you can also have traditional meals along the valley. The last is a running river that flows through the High Atlas, passing by Asguine, Aghbalou, Oulmes and finally the village of SettiFatma from where it is possible to follow the course of the river via seven waterfalls. We can also pass by Oukaimden which is a famous ski resort in which you can practice sports of sorts. it receives thousands of visitors during winter season. Settifatma is also a must visit, it is dignified with the seven waterfalls and Moussems that last for 4 continuous days during august. If you are interested you can also climb the rocks, cliffs by the River to the Waterfalls or trek the hills.
